Come skype with author Danette Vigilante at 6:30 p.m. at the Raymond Park Family Literacy Night on October 22nd. Ms. Vigilante grew up in Brooklyn, New York. She has written two novels, "Trouble with Half a Moon" in 2011 and "Saving Baby Doe" in 2013. "Trouble with Half a Moon" was nominated for a Sunshine State Young Reader's Award.
Through skype, Ms. Vigilante will be discussing her journey from weak reader to published author. She talks about self-doubt, rejection, and the importance of persistence. The first 20 students will receive a copy of her book. All students will receive a journal and signed bookmark by the author!
